Pakiri Beach Horse Rides - Special Events

Make it a Unique day, event or function. Pakiri Beach is 15km of unspoilt beaches and pure white sands along the world reknown Hauraki Gulf Maritime Park on the east coast of the North Island 100km north of Auckland City.

With farmlands and native bush down to the shoreline and The Goat Island Marine reserve at one end Parkiri Beach is a unique and special place to be.

Matariki - June

The Maori new year is marked by the rise of Matariki and the sighting of the next new moon. The pre-dawn rise of Matariki can be seen in the last few days of May every year and the new year is marked at the sighting of the next new moon which occurs during June.

Meet at Pakiri Beach Horse Rides Stables Café Walk to view the stars with Hori Martin who will give a karakia and a small mihi.

After breakfast you might like to take a horse ride along the beach...this is an optional extra and some of you might like to make a weekend of this and stay on in our accommodations here and maybe hold your own mid winter solstice celebrations for Saturday night.

This is a very special uniquely New Zealand event and should be celebrated, if it is raining and the stars cannot be viewed we will party at the café with the guitars and the saxophone!
