Ride the trails of the ancestors, enjoy the outlook of a paramount Maori chief and visit his ancient Pa site high above the Pacific ocean. Tread the paths of his people and sleep in their sacred house. Enjoy the company of his descendents and the stories and food they share with you.Most of all enjoy the freedom of travelling on horseback in this special place.
Depart Pakiri for Leigh. This is a days riding over the beautiful pristine Pakiri Beach, over coastal high farm country. Picturesque views out over the Pacific ocean and close by islands. Stop for a picnic lunch and ride on to your over night accommodation at the Sawmill café. Overnight here after visiting the famous Sawmill Bar.
After breakfast depart in the Pakiri “Limo” (Landy!) for the Matakana Farmers Market and the Matakana House Hotel …spend the morning browsing and shopping and sampling the varied delicious produce of our district. After lunch visit 3 or 4 vineyards. A serious night in the bar at Matakana House Hotel and over night at Matakana house motel.

After breakfast hop into the Limo and meet up with your horses who have been trucked to the top of the Matakana hill and enjoy a leisurely ride back to Pakiri from the top of Matakana Hill through Millbrook Station a coastal beef station.
Maybe a quick ride along the beach before saying goodbye to your horse and enjoying a final session at the Loose Box Bar at the Pakiri Stables.
Farewells and at approx:5.30pm Depart Pakiri for Auckland.
NB: We can do an optional extra day and night to include a visit to Mangawhai Hotel. We would over night at Pakiri on Night 3 and ride up the beach and through the forest to Mangawhai estuary which we would cross at low tide riding right to the hotel! This is an historic ride often undertaken by the early settlers! Overnight at Milestone cottages. This would incur additional charges.
Riders will need to bring spending money for purchases at the markets and pottery and wine tasting at the vineyards. Also for extra wine at meals (we provide 1 glass per person.) They will also need their own insurance.
