Cancellation Policy for Short Daily Rides.
Pakiri Beach Horse Rides are happy to ride in all weathers, we do understand however that not everybody likes riding in torrential rain!
Pakiri is a micro climate and if you’re unsure of the conditions we encourage you to call as often the sun is shining when it’s miserable elsewhere. Very often the weather forecast is not applicable to Pakiri. Whether you have plans to enjoy summer horseback riding or a winter horse trek be sure to give us a call to find out the conditions at our headquarters. 09 422 6275
We require a 30% non-refundable deposit on all bookings.
In Winter Months:
- A minimum of 24 hours’ notice due to weather we are happy to accept your horse riding cancellation and transfer your deposit to another date for your winter horse trek.
In Summer Months:
- Minimum of 24 hours’ notice for a horse riding cancellation.
- All deposits for your ride must be deposited when you book to secure your space for a summer horseback ride. We take and process credit card details by phone when you book.
- A horse riding cancellation fee of $ 30.00 will be deducted from the client’s refund. This refund only applies if the client cancels at least 7 Days before their horse trek. Less than 7 days cancellation no refund.
- Remember when you book a ride we make sure there is a horse and a trained paid guide prepared and on standby for you and we turn away other riders so that you can ride.
Multi day rides
Cancellations Policy for Multi Day rides.
Cancellations affect our business significantly as we have often turned away other customers to hold your reservation.
As most people book holidays and rides well in advance, it is difficult to replace a reservation at late notice and for this reason our policy is strictly adhered to.
25% non-refundable deposit on booking
Payment in full 30 days before departure
50% refund if cancellation before 21 days before departure of ride
No refund if cancellation after 21 days before departure or during ride.
Pakiri Beach Horse Rides reserve the right to cancel the ride at any time if safety is compromised by bad weather, river flooding or other circumstances. Clients will be refunded if this should occur before the ride commencement date. The company also reserves the right to terminate the ride of any person whose behavior or actions compromise the safety or enjoyment of other riders in the group. Their ride will not be refunded.
At times the trails have to be changed to accommodate logging or other forest activities or weather vagaries.
We have a weight limit of 100kgs on our short daily rides and 95kgs on our multi day rides.
We also have a bag size and weight limit for our multi day rides. Weekend carry all 12kg max.
Any changes to the itinerary are made in the interests of your safety.
Safety Terms & Customer Declaration
In any adventure activity, there is an element of risk involved. Risks in undertaking this activity include loss of personal property, personal injury.
The staff and management of Pakiri Beach Horse Rides take all practicable steps to identify and minimize potential dangers.
However, you must follow our instructions and wear helmets provided at all times. Adults accompanying any person under the age of 16 must ensure that the underage person follows our instructions at all times. You must release or indemnify Pakiri Beach Horse Rides and our staff against any liability we incur to anyone else, resulting from your failure to follow our instructions or the failure of any person accompanying you under the age of 18 to follow our instructions.
We reserve the right to withdraw any person who in our opinion is likely to endanger themselves or others. We also reserve the right to cancel the horse ride if we become concerned for any reason for your safety or that of any other person.
WARNING: Under New Zealand law it is extremely unlikely that you will be able to sue anyone if you are injured: in addition, New Zealand’s accident compensation scheme provides only limited assistance to visitors to New Zealand who are injured.
We strongly recommend that all visitors to New Zealand have full insurance covering any injury they might suffer, including medical treatment cover, before undertaking this activity.
EXCLUSIONS: To the extent permitted by law, all our liability for damage to your property, disruption to travel plans, or mental injury is excluded. This exclusion is subject to any rights or remedies you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Please notify staff if there are any medical conditions or relevant information that we need to know before commencement of the trek. There are no refunds.
