Imagine the wind in your face, the sun on your skin and just the sound of the surf and hoof beats on the white sand…this is yours at Pakiri Beach!
Pakiri Beach Horse Rides is just 90 minutes from downtown Auckland city, less than 2 hours from Auckland International Airport and just minutes from Matakana Coast Wine Country.
Ride the trails of our ancestors. Visit the ancient Pa site of a paramount Maori chief, high above the Pacific Ocean. Experience a breathtaking view that reaches far and wide to the horizon. Tread the paths of his people. And enjoy the company of us, his descendants, and the stories and food we will share with you.
We are your hosts at Pakiri, Laly and Sharley Haddon. We are a blended family of both Maori and European descent. Along with our daughter Olivia and son Ben, we are descended from Te Kiri of Ngati Wai, an ancient Maori chief, and his daughter Rahui and from Scottish, Portuguese and English settlers and whalers. Our tribe, Ngati Wai, were seafarers. They discovered this place after following the call of the whales across the Pacific. Our home is on land that has been handed down through many generations. Here we have gained a lifetime of experience with horses and farming.
Sharley Haddon runs the worlds most professional and enjoyable ocean beach ride in the world. Listed in the Worlds "100 Things One Must Do Before You Die", Pakiri Horse Rides offers a unique and personal ride along 9 miles of white sand and blue ocean. Only an hour and a quarter out of Auckland - the friendly staff and guides will give you an experience of a life time. Enjoy!" John Carr

If we are unable to answer leave a message and your contact number twice and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
A big Thank you to the NZ Herald for ranking us at the top of their list of the Top 5 Horse Riding and Trekking places in Auckland.
